The health condition of the 14-year-old and his grandmother is critical after a car accident in Paphos

The 14-year-old who was riding in a vehicle involved in a car accident in the Paphos District and his 57-year-old grandmother are being treated at the Nicosia General Hospital in critical condition at the ICU of the Paphos Hospital.

According to the Police, the 14-year-old has a head fracture and due to the seriousness of his condition he was transported by ambulance from the Paphos General Hospital to the Nicosia General Hospital while his health condition is considered critical.

His 57-year-old grandmother, who was also in the vehicle, underwent surgery at the Paphos General Hospital, has a vertebral fracture, injuries to her face and chest and is being held at the Paphos General Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Her state of health is characterized by the treating doctors as also critical.

Seven people were injured in the accident that took place at 13:00 yesterday. According to the Police, the traffic accident happened on the road Drousia - Prodromiou - Polis Chrysochous, when under conditions that are being investigated two vehicles coming from opposite directions collided head-on.

In one vehicle was a 40-year-old mother with her three minor children aged 14, 15 and 17 and a 57-year-old grandmother, all E / C, and in the second vehicle a 55-year-old German couple, the man and the 61-year-old woman.

Preliminary tests revealed that one driver failed to drive on the left side of the road, her vehicle entered the opposite direction of traffic, resulting in a collision with the opposite passing vehicle in which the German couple was riding.

The 17-year-old has bruises on various parts of her body and is being held at Paphos General Hospital for treatment.

The 15-year-old has an arm fracture and remains for treatment in the state hospital of Paphos while her health condition is characterized as out of danger.

The 40-year-old driver of the car has a bruise on her ear and her health condition is out of danger.

From the German couple, the 61-year-old has a broken left arm and the 55-year-old was not injured, however, both of them were detained for precautionary reasons at the Paphos General Hospital.

The examinations for the challenge of the Traffic Police are continued by the Paphos Traffic Police.
