The Director of the Department of Cadastre and Geometry was hosted on the state radio, who spoke about the cyber attack that the Department received as a result of which they cannot serve the citizens.
He initially stated that "I have been in the Land Registry for 36 years, and we did not close even during the time of the corona virus. It's the first time it's happened to us. We have not received such an attack in the past."
Mr. Elikkos Ilias mentioned that it is one of the first Departments of the Government to start operating. "From 1999 they started to implement computerized systems. We've never experienced anything like this before and for me it's a nightmare."
He added that very good technicians are working. He noted that the IT Department along with other services are assisting them. "I believe we will succeed. They work day and night and I want to thank the technicians."
