CYPRUS: 11 new confirmed cases of coronavirus - At 761 in total

According to data from the Ministry of Health's Epidemiological Surveillance Unit, the new confirmed cases are 11 out of a total of 3,209 laboratory diagnoses.

In detail, the new cases emerged as follows:

• From the program of the Ministry of Health for the examination of 20,000 professionals, 1,391 laboratory diagnoses have been completed today by the contracting laboratories, without a positive result.
• Out of a total of 640 diagnoses from the process of tracking already confirmed cases, 3 cases were identified,
• Out of a total of 181 diagnoses from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, no cases were identified.
• Out of a total of 526 laboratory diagnoses of people who returned from abroad, 1 positive result was identified,
• Out of a total of 87 laboratory tests from a private initiative, 6 cases were identified, and
• From 384 samples taken by employees at OKYPY, 1 positive result was identified. Specifically, this is a person who works in the cleaning department of the General Hospital of Paphos. OKYPY is already taking the necessary steps to disinfect the area.

From the program of 20,000 laboratory diagnoses, a total of 11 laboratory tests were completed on Saturday, April 4, and until today at 7,890 pm.

Based on current data, the total number of positive cases amounted to 761 (including the ten found at the British Base).

In addition, according to the data, until 3 in the afternoon, at the General Hospital of Famagusta, the reference hospital, 17 people are being treated, three of them are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All patients are in good condition. Two exemptions were also granted. A total of nine patients are being treated for intubation, three in the Intensive Care Unit of the Limassol General Hospital and six in the Nicosia ICU. Also, in the Intensive Care Unit, four patients are being treated out of breath, three at the Nicosia General Hospital and one at the Limassol General Hospital. The clinical condition of all patients in the ICU is currently critical but stable. In addition, in all hospitals, except for the reference hospital, six confirmed cases are treated in a ward.
