The Ministry of Health announces that today, January 29 2022:
- 4 deaths from the disease were reported COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 730.
- 203 patients COVID-19 of which 68 are in serious condition. 74,39% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 19 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized in intubated condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 83,766 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).
- 2,184 (positivity rate: 2,61%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases in 251,125.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The 4 deaths reported with the ultimate cause of death attributed to the disease COVID-19, relate to:
- An 83-year-old man who died on January 28 at the Limassol General Hospital.
- A 70-year-old man, who ended up on January 28 in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital.
- An 92-year-old man who died on January 28 at the Nicosia General Hospital.
- A man, 92 years old, who ended up on January 29 at the General Hospital of Famagusta.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 amounts to 730, of which:
456 men (62,5%), and
- 274 women (37,5%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76,2 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 203 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 68 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 68 patients in serious condition, 27 are intubated, 5 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 36 to an intensive care unit.
