CYPRUS: 41 new cases - All information

The Ministry of Health announces that today, June 5, 2021:

- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded today COVID-19, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 363.

- 45 patients COVID-19 18 of whom are in serious condition.

- A total of 49,462 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).

- 41 (positivity rate: 0,08%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases at 72,750.

The current results are detailed.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:

No patient deaths were recorded with COVID-19. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 remains 363, of which:

241 men (66%), and

- 122 women (34%).

The average age of those who die from the disease is 78 years.

B. Patients:

In total, 45 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 18 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 18 patients in serious condition, 11 are intubated, one is admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and six to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 49,462 diagnoses made today, 4,906 were made by molecular method (PCR) and 44,556 by antigen rapid test, 41 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:

  • 1 case from 26 samples taken through the process of tracking contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 15 cases from 2,277 samples taken through private initiative.
  • 2 cases from 679 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 23 cases from 43,877 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method.

In addition, the following tests were performed, without detecting a case:

  • 2,437 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 66 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 47 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 53 samples taken from the inhabitants of Kato Pyrgos Tillirias.
