CYPRUS: 5 deaths and 3.695 cases

The announcement of the Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 8 2022:

- They were announced 5 deaths

  • A woman, 78 years old, who passed away on March 4
  • A woman, 87 years old, who passed away on March 7
  • A woman, 84 years old, who passed away on March 8
  • A woman, 85 years old, who passed away on March 8
  • A woman, 86 years old, who passed away on March 8

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 883.

-       120 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

-       23 in serious condition (ICU: 1 out of ventilator / 9 intubated, MAF: 13)

- Percentage of patients without a history of vaccination: 53,34%

-       20 Patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated for COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- They took place in total 133.874 diagnostic examinations

- They were located 3.695 new cases (set of cases 338.517).

- Position rate in all exams 2,76%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

- They took place 4.396 molecular tests

- They emerged 304positive incidents

- Position of positivity 6,92%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (fastTest):

- They were carried out 129.478 rapid antigen detection tests

- They emerged 3.391 positive incidents

- Position of positivity 2,62%

Tracking:

- They were carried out 280 molecular tests and were detected 26 positive events (percentage of positivity 9,29%)

- They were carried out 625 rapid antigen detection tests and detected  67 positive events (percentage of positivity 10,72%)

Private initiative:

- They were carried out 1.922 molecular tests were identified 227 positive events (percentage of positivity 11,81%)

- They were carried out 70.165 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 2.257 positive events (percentage of positivity 3,22%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health were carried out 59.313 rapid antigen detection test. They were located 1.134 positive incidents.

- Sampling points: 20.327 rapid detection tests were detected 764 positive events (percentage of positivity 3,76%)

Education

- Primary Education: 19.968 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 111 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,56%)

- Secondary Education: 10.810 rapid detection tests were detected 96 positive events (percentage of positivity 0,89%)

- Test-to-Stay: performed 3.968 rapid antigen detection tests and detected 67 positive events (percentage of positivity 1,69%)

- Special Schools: conducted 684 rapid antigen detection tests and detected positive events (percentage of positivity 0,44%)

Other

- Nursing homes: conducted 2.092 rapid antigen detection tests were detected 25 positive events (percentage of positivity 1,2%)

- Government Services: performed 839 rapid antigen detection test and detected positive incident (percentage of positivity 0,12%)
