CYPRUS: 8 new cases of coronavirus - At 935 in total

Regarding the new cases of the disease COVID-19, according to the data from the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health, out of a total of 1,953 laboratory diagnoses, 8 cases of SARS-CoV-2 virus were detected.

In detail, the data for the new cases are as follows:

Out of a total of 365 samples taken from repatriates, 7 cases were identified, and
From a total of 142 laboratory tests from the process of tracking already confirmed cases, 1 case was identified.

Specifically, the following diagnoses were performed, without detecting a case:

From the program of control of 10,000 employees in hairdressers, barbershops, beauty salons, tattoo centers and restaurants, 190 laboratory diagnoses were performed.
From the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 144 laboratory tests were completed,
From the control program of 20,000 students and school staff, we had results for 704 samples,
From the control program of 20,000 employees in retail companies and construction sites, we had a result for 200 laboratory tests,
From the program of control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 127 diagnoses were processed, and
81 laboratory diagnoses were completed on private initiative.

Based on current data, the total number of positive cases amounted to 935.

Also, based on the data until 3 in the afternoon, at the General Hospital of Famagusta, 5 people are hospitalized. One of them is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. Two patients remain intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital of Nicosia, while in the same Unit two patients are treated outside the ventilator.
