Cyprus: Miserable living conditions for two minor children

The story of two minor children, who live in adverse conditions and with many deprivations, together with their sick father and elderly grandmother, in a house that does not even have the basics, causes pan-Cypriot emotion. With no light in the children's room, no hot water and the only means of heating the damp house is a gas stove, children with enviable dignity try to help their sick father and at the same time be consistent in their school obligations.

The shocking story was published by Sigma's show "Mesimeri kai Kati" and the images that reached our receivers are a punch in the stomach. A house with humidity and holes in the walls, without hot water for bathing and with the refrigerator empty only a few days before the Christmas holidays.

The family drama started about a year ago when due to a serious medical problem the father was forced to stop working. The family receives the benefits they are entitled to from the state, however these are not enough to meet the increased needs.

The story came to light at the initiative of a children's teacher who wanted to help them. According to the teacher, these are two very decent children with good performance at school and appealed to the public to help as much as they can in order to make their lives easier. "It would be nice if they could have other activities in the afternoon, such as swimming, dancing or soccer that they love, especially English and it would be a good idea if they had the support of a pediatrician to visit him when he is sick," he said. the teacher on camera.

The grandmother also spoke on camera, stating that they are two very ambitious children who face the blow of fate with dignity and without demands.
