CYPRUS: They broke into a villa and left with jewelry worth over 40 thousand euros

Wealth of more than 40.000 euros was stolen by burglars from a villa in the sea caves in Pegeia.

According to the Police, it was reported by a British permanent resident of Paphos that strangers entered his house yesterday and while he was away from it between 19:00 and 21:30 at night and seized a Rolex watch worth 12.000 euros, a second Cartier luxury watch worth 12.000 euros and various jewelry with a total value of 15.000 euros, as well as the amount of 1.200 euros in 50 banknotes, all with a total value of 40.200 euros.

Members of the Pegeia police station and the Paphos Police Department went to the scene and further examinations revealed that a sharp object had been violated on the side balcony door of the villa.

The examinations are continued by the Pegeia police station in cooperation with the Paphos Police Department.

36-year-old arrested in the early hours of the morning in Paphos for possession of burglary tools

In another case, a 36-year-old man was detained for possession of burglary tools overnight to facilitate interrogations.

According to the Police, a patrol of TAE Paphos, while patrolling in the area of ​​Tombs of the Kings at 01:30 in the morning, located a person who was moving suspiciously. When members of his forces asked for his details, it was found that he is a 36-year-old permanent resident of Paphos.

A search of the luggage he was holding revealed that he was in possession of burglary tools. He was subsequently arrested for the self-inflicted offense of possession of burglary devices overnight and was remanded in custody.

A search of his apartment turned up nothing.

Today the case will be registered in the District Court of Paphos.
