CYPRUS: Two new cases of coronavirus - One concerns a pregnant woman

Regarding the new cases of the disease COVID-19, according to the data from the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health, out of a total of 1,067 laboratory diagnoses, 2 cases of SARS-CoV-2 virus were detected.

In particular, HIV-positive individuals were identified from 172 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through Public Health Clinics. She is a pregnant woman who underwent a laboratory test for childbirth and a person who underwent a laboratory test as part of a preoperative examination.

In addition, the following diagnoses were performed without detecting a case:

From the control program of 10,000 employees who were reactivated during the second and third phase of the strategy for gradual lifting of the restrictions, 211 laboratory tests were completed.
From samples taken from a private initiative, we had results for 370 laboratory tests,
From the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 28 diagnoses were performed,
From the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 173 laboratory diagnoses were completed, and
From the samples taken in the context of passenger and repatriation control, 113 examinations were performed.
Based on current data, the total number of positive cases amounted to 990.
