Authorities mobilized after locating a drone that was suspiciously moving in the area of Agios Dometios in Nicosia, near the roadblock.
According to information from the Police, around 5 yesterday afternoon, a citizen spotted an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) flying in an area of Nicosia.
The unmanned aircraft followed a downward course and landed near the citizen who stopped it and notified the Police, since a suspicious object was hanging from it.
Members of YKAN (Nicosia Ladder) and the Fireworks Branch went to the spot where during the examinations they found that the suspicious object was a cylindrical package which contained dry cannabis plant material weighing about 60 grams.
Both the unmanned aerial vehicle and the drugs were picked up for further testing.
