Cyprus: They stole a vehicle parked outside a house

It was reported around 3.15 in the morning today by a resident of Larnaca province that, between 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon and 1.30 in the morning today, strangers stole his car, which was parked outside his house.

This is a MERCEDES E CLASS gray car with registration numbers NMP297. Note that the car was unlocked with the keys on the starter.

On this occasion, the Police once again reminds the public to be especially careful and to take measures to protect their property.

Even if we are a few minutes away from our car, we take all those measures that would prevent the theft of it or the theft of property from our vehicle, taking seriously the fact that the intruders are lurking to steal our property.

We park our vehicle in supervised parking lots, as it is safer.

We make sure we have removed the vehicle keys, lock the doors and fully raise the windows of our vehicle.

During the night it is better to park our vehicle in places where there is enough road lighting. Avoid dark or secluded spots.

If there is an anti-theft system installed in our vehicle, we make sure that it is activated and we regularly check that it works normally.

In general, the public is urged to be vigilant and to work closely with the Police and in case they find anything suspicious, such as persons or vehicles moving suspiciously, to immediately inform the local Police Station or to contact the Citizen Contact Line at 1460 or the emergency hotline at 112 and 199.
