The Ministry of Health announces that today, January 24 2022:
- 1 death from the disease was announced COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 713.
- 221 patients COVID-19 of which 75 are in serious condition. 70,59% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 22 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized in intubated condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 130,466 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).
- 2,815 (positivity rate: 2,16%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases in 238,773.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The 1st death reported with the ultimate cause of death being attributed to the disease COVID-19, it's about:
- A woman, 87 years old, who ended up on January 24 at the Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 amounts to 713, of which:
447 men (62,7%), and
- 266 women (37,3%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76,1 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 221 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 75 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 75 patients in serious condition, 30 are intubated, 4 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 41 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 130,466 diagnoses made, 7,788 were made by molecular method (PCR) and 122,678 by the method of antigen rapid test, 2,815 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
35 cases from 467 samples taken through the process of tracking contacts of already confirmed cases.
