CYPRUS: More than 1100 cases today - 48 in serious condition

The Ministry of Health announces that today, July 15, 2021:

- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded today COVID-19, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 383.

- 181 patients COVID-19 48 of whom are in serious condition.

- A total of 67,205 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).

- 1,152 (positivity rate: 1,71%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases at 88,457.

The current results are detailed.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:

No patient deaths were recorded with COVID-19. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 remains 383, of which:

256 men (67%), and

- 127 women (33%).

The average age of those who die from the disease is 77,2 years.

B. Patients:

In total, 181 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 48 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 48 patients who are in serious condition, 18 are intubated, one is treated in an intravenous intensive care unit and 29 in an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 67,205 diagnoses made today, 9,903 were made by molecular method (PCR) and 57,302 by antigen rapid test, 1,152 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:

  • 81 cases from 675 samples taken through the process of tracking contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 5 cases of 3,201 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 291 cases from 5,521 samples taken through private initiative.
  • 36 cases from 350 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 1 case from 156 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 60 cases from 1,927 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 678 cases from 55,375 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method.
