The Ministry of Health announces that today, January 3 2022:
- 2 people died from the disease COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 641.
- 201 patients COVID-19 of which 75 are in serious condition. 81.1% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 16post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized in intubated condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 164,358 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the rapid antigen detection method (antigenrapidtest).
- 5,024 (positivity rate: 3,06%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and rapid antigen detection tests (antigenrapidtest), raising the total number of cases in 177,721.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The 2 people who died with the ultimate cause of death being attributed to the disease COVID-19, relate to:
- An 84-year-old man who died on January 2 at the Limassol General Hospital.
- A 62-year-old man, who ended up on January 3 in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 amounts to 641, of which:
407 men (63,5%), and
- 234 women (36,5%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 201 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 75 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 75 patients in serious condition, 32 are intubated, 4 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 39 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCRtest and rapidtest antigen):
