Cyprus: It contained flammable pipes and set fire to a record store

Paphos Police is conducting intensive investigations into the case of arson of a discotheque in the heart of the tourist Kato Paphos, on Agiou Antoniou Street, 650 this morning. 

According to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos, Michalis Ioannou, the Police received information about a fire in a record store in Kato Paphos, specifically in the tourist area of ​​Agios Antonios.

Police went to the scene and cordoned off the scene after realizing that there was a fire outside a record store in the area. The fire brigade extinguished the fire. According to Mr. Ioannou and the further examinations, it seems that the fire caused damage to pipes outside the building and it spread inside an office adjacent to the premises.

The fire, he continued, caused damage to the premises, which have not yet been calculated. He added that the Police is examining, evaluating and utilizing closed circuits in the area in order to investigate and investigate the case. Mr. Ioannou also said that persons are being interrogated, testimonies have been taken and the investigative team is working to find such testimonies so that an arrest warrant can be issued for the alleged perpetrator.

From the preliminary examinations from the closed circuit study, Mr. Ioannou said that it seems that this is a person who contained the pipes with flammable material and then set fire.
