Cyprus: His vehicle was stolen from a parking lot - He left the keys at the starter

The theft of a car, which had been left by its owner parked with the keys in the start of the engine, is being investigated by the Police in the province of Larnaca. The theft case is being investigated by the Minor Offenses Department of the Larnaca Central Police Station.

According to the complaint submitted to the Police last night, the 56-year-old owner of the car, the vehicle, worth 1800 euros, was stolen between 4.00 in the afternoon and 8.30 on Wednesday night, from a parking lot in the area of ​​Faneromeni, in Larnaca. He had parked the car in the area, leaving the keys in the engine starter.

The Police, in order to prevent similar incidents of theft, addresses recommendations to the public, owners and responsible drivers of vehicles, such as by parking their vehicle, even in case of a short stop, to remove the keys, to close the windows completely, and to the vehicle is locked.

It is worth noting that failure to take protective measures and keep the keys and the vehicle itself is a violation, especially in the case where as a result of negligent storage of the vehicle, another person illegally takes possession and illegally drives the vehicle.
