It is time to elect an independent President, apart from the current political party system, says in a statement, Marios Iliadis, who, as he notes, welcomes any candidacy for the office of President of the Republic.
Mr. Iliadis, who has expressed his intention to run as an independent candidate, points out that no party candidacy will be able to bring about change, something that society is persistently asking for.
"Our country is in a very difficult situation with a government that has shown that it cannot move our country forward, that it cannot solve the Cyprus problem or fight the problems of the economy due to corruption. It's time to speak up and support the big call for change," he adds.
It's time, he adds, to elect an independent president, outside of the current political party system, adding that he is the only candidate, free from any party weight.
"I am firmly attached to the idea of forming a government of collective responsibility, a government of cooperation and solidarity," he concludes.
