Matsakis: "No finding for strangulation of 28-year-old woman" - Why did she go down the cliff

The private medical examiner, Marios Matsakis, spoke on the Front Page about the second autopsy on the body of 28-year-old Lesya Bykova from Ukraine.

At first, he explained that the reason he went down the cliff was because he wanted to see where the girl had fallen. “There are vertical cliffs and there are stepped cliffs. The 31-year-old suspect had given some versions, which did not speak of a vertical fall but a tumble. To see this, you can't see it from above, you have to get down and see it from the side. Also, the suspect had claimed that he went down and tried to save the girl, while she was hanging, she didn't fall straight down. Then when he fell, he went down to the corpse, on the beach. I proved that you can get off. They confirmed what the suspect was telling me."

He went on to state that “I did that autopsy, I examined the suspect and I was present at the autopsy. From these findings I have given a preliminary conclusion that they are consistent with the history given by the suspect. It remains to examine the clothes of the deceased and the suspect for the final result."

When asked about the findings of the autopsy, he said that "I did not find a finding of strangulation. My findings are consistent with the history given by the suspect."
