A campaign to collect signatures for direct flights to and from the illegal airport in occupied Tympu has said that the new president of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce, Turgay Deniz, will start with the first goal of 10.000 signatures and the final 100.000.
According to the Kiprisli newspaper, the campaign will start at the 2nd Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival in London on June 17th, with the participation of the chamber.
Turgay Deniz described the issue of direct flights as the biggest problem of Turkish Cypriots living in both London and Cyprus. He also said that they should start having relations with the Turkish Cypriots living abroad again and take measures to release them from military service, giving them the right to "vote and be elected".
The Turkish Cypriot economy, he noted, will benefit if these Turkish Cypriots spend their holidays on the Turkish Cypriot side, buy houses and make investments.
The article finally states that during the stay in London of the delegation of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce, a cooperation protocol will be signed with the Turkish Chamber of Commerce of London.
