Enrollment in the electoral roll until December 27 – All information

December 27 is the last day to submit an application for registration in the electoral roll for the Presidential Elections of February 2023 as well as for submission of a declaration by holders of electoral registers who wish to exercise their right to vote abroad, the Ministry of the Interior reminds in announcements.

As noted, in the upcoming presidential elections, all citizens of the Republic, aged 18 and over, who have their habitual residence in Cyprus and are registered in the electoral roll, have the right to vote.

Those who are not registered in the electoral roll, have the right to register if, on the date of the Presidential Elections, i.e. until February 5, 2023, they will reach the age of 18.

Applications are submitted to the local Offices of the District Administrations, Citizen Service Centers (KEP) and Citizen Centers (KE.PO) – Cyprus Post Offices. For citizens up to 25 years of age, applications can also be submitted electronically, via the internet, at the following address: www.elections.gov.cy.

The last day of submission, both of the electronic and of the paper application for registration in the electoral roll, is December 27, 2022. After the above date, no new registration and/or change in the electoral roll can be made. Therefore, the beneficiaries are urged to submit the relevant application in a timely manner.

In addition, the Ministry of the Interior reminds that in the upcoming presidential elections, on February 5, 2023 and, in any repeat election, on February 12, 2023, polling centers will operate abroad, for voters who are already registered in the electoral roll or will be registered by on December 27, 2022.

In order to enable the operation of polling centers abroad, a special electoral roll is drawn up, in which the details of registered voters are transferred from the permanent electoral roll of Cyprus, following a relevant declaration submitted by the interested parties. Electoral centers abroad, according to the law, may only operate in those cities where the number of voters who will submit a declaration exceeds 50.

For this purpose, voters who wish to exercise their right to vote abroad can submit a declaration by properly completing the relevant form and submitting it on time, no later than December 27, 2022.

Declaration forms can be obtained from the Embassies / Consulates of the Republic abroad, the local Offices of the Provincial Administrations, from the Citizen Service Centers and Citizen Centers (Cyprus Post Offices), from the Elections Service, at the Ministry of the Interior, as well as electronically from the elections website at elections.gov.cy.

Declarations can be submitted in paper form at the above locations, as well as online at the above email address aps.elections.moi.gov.cy.
