Mother Vangeli: "They tell me to accept that he killed himself so that we can finish"

Two and a half years after the death of Vangelis Fragoulis, his family is still searching for answers.

It is recalled that the Greek merchant navy officer was found dead on Saturday, October 3, 2020, inside the warehouse he was renting at 10A Hefaistou Street, in Limassol.

Protoselidos hosted the mother of Vangelis Nektaria Vlachos, who is looking for answers about her child's death while at the same time asking the authorities to do their job properly.

"Unbelievable mistakes have been made, the first mistake is refusing the government medical examiner to come and do an autopsy at the crime scene. The autopsy was not done, they gave instructions over the phone, it's a world first, a diagnosis has never been made worldwide over the phone," said Mrs. Nektaria.

He went on to say, "in the case of the poor girl in Petra of Romiou, two government medical examiners went for autopsy and diagnosis, and a medical examiner from Greece also went. In my case this never happened.

My child was found in the driver's seat with his right hand on the driver's door, wearing sunglasses and holding a knife to his heart. My child was beaten enough that it showed but everyone was willfully blind and didn't see it. He also had other injuries so something had happened before. The authorities did not investigate what had preceded, no declassification was done, no autopsy was done, they did not look at the cameras. They remembered after 7 months to see the cameras."

She emphasized that no blood was found in the car where her child was found dead and that it was spotless.

"There were some events before my child's death that no one investigated. The events that happened seem like someone wanted to hurt my child. To this day I am waiting for answers while the Prosecutor's Office insists on suicide. I can't be told to accept that he killed himself so we could end it. These things are unacceptable, they had to investigate and prove it to me," he said.

Mrs. Nektaria requests that the file be reopened and that the case be fully investigated and resolved. "They can't tell me he killed himself without investigating the case."
