Avvakum Monastery: Not even this week before the Inquest the two monks

Even this week, the two Archimandrites of the Holy Monastery of St. Avvakum, who are on holiday, are not expected to appear before the Investigative Committee, appointed by the six-member Synodal Court, however, a large number of people from within the Holy Metropolis of Tamasos and from the circle of the Monastery and the two monks on holiday appear on a daily basis before the Investigative Committee for testimony, the KYPE is informed.

According to the information, the two monks on holiday did not appear before the Investigative Committee yesterday either, as expected, since due to the large amount of material that the Investigative Committee has in front of it, it has not yet been possible to call them.

They work day and night in Investigation

As the KYPE is informed by an ecclesiastical source, the procedures carried out by the Investigative Committee are "feverish", while the members are working day and night, so that the drawing up of a conclusion, which will be submitted before the six-member Synodal Court, to reach a decision, is successful.

The same source told KYPE that every day a large number of people from within the Holy Metropolis of Tamasos, as well as from the circle of the two monks and the Holy Monastery of Saint Havvakum, appear before the Investigative Committee, in order to help complete the investigation in a reliable manner .

As the source noted, the members of the Commission "do not want the process to suffer and have gaps".

“One reason the Commission of Inquiry has not yet summoned the two Archimandrites on holiday is because it wants to be completely ready when they come. They are preparing the ground," he added.

It is noted that when the two Archimandrites on holiday present themselves and testify to the Investigative Committee, the process ends, as long as no new evidence emerges.

In the meantime, as reported by the Cyprus News Agency last week, the process is not expected to be completed before Easter.
