New yellow warning for high temperatures

A new Yellow Warning has been issued by the Department of Meteorology for today, Monday.

The warning will be in effect from 11:00am on Monday until 17:00pm on the same day.

The maximum temperature in the interior is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius and around 33 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

Seasonal low pressure affects the area.

Today the weather will be mostly clear, but in the early morning it is possible to observe locally increased low clouds or even thin fog. The winds will initially be variable, light 3 Beaufort to become by the afternoon southwest to northwest, light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and transient on the southern coast, up to strong 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a bit rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, 37 degrees on the northern coasts, around 35 degrees on the southern and eastern coasts, 32 degrees on the western coasts and around 33 degrees in the higher mountains.

In the evening the weather will be mostly clear but in the morning hours it is possible to form locally increased low clouds or even thin fog. Winds will gradually become northwest to northeast and on the northern coast southeast, weak 3 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough. The temperature will drop to 21 degrees inland, around 23 on the coast and 22 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the weather will remain mostly sunny and warm.

The temperature will fluctuate at the same levels, which are slightly above the climatic averages.
