Stelios Stylianou, 53 years old from Limassol, resident of Kiti, drowned at noon in the sea area of Pervolia.
According to the Police, around 15.00, information was received at the Kiti Police Station about drowning in the sea area of Pervolia.
Members of the Kiti Police Station went to the area where they located a 55-year-old man, who said that while doing the sport of wind surfing, he saw a board and a person floating in the sea, about 200 meters from the land.
The 55-year-old stated that after notifying the Police and an ambulance of the Larnaca General Hospital, he gave first aid to the man, but there was no response.
The ambulance transported the man to the TAEP of the Hospital where the doctors on duty confirmed his death.
Police investigations revealed that the deceased was Stelios Stylianou, 53, from Limassol, a resident of Kiti, who was identified by his brother.
The Police ruled out the possibility of criminal action, however, the exact causes of Stylianos' death will be ascertained during the legal autopsy that will be carried out tomorrow morning on his body at the Larnaca General Hospital.
The case is being investigated by the Kiti Police Station in cooperation with the Larnaca Police.
