Andreas Soutziis is being detained with the aim of instilling fear in the E/K who pass to the "north", but also in those who fight for peace, says a statement from the Community Democracy Party (KKD).
As transmitted by the occupied territories, in its announcement the party notes that Soutziis has been detained for 14 days but nothing has been found against him, no charges have been brought against him and this hurts the conscience of the public, undermines trust in justice, the relationship between communities and their economic ties and violates human rights.
“It is also butter to the bread of those who want to stop the increase in crossings from the south to the north. Are not the right of access to justice, the principle of equal treatment of individuals regardless of their origin, the presumption of innocence, the reputation of our institutions, good relations between communities and even economic ties part of the public interest?'' states.
If there is an offence, adds the CCP, this will be decided by the "court". However, he continues, it has been shown once again that the good relations and stability that are attempted to be created in conditions of non-resolution are based on a delicate balance and how great the risks are.
With completely fake news, notes the KKK, an attempt is being made to target Andreas Soutziis, just because he is an E/K, in order to create fear in those E/K who pass to the "north" but also in all those who fight for peace in Cyprus.
