The Nigerian government advises its citizens to avoid traveling to the occupied territories "since it cannot protect them", according to today's reports in the t/c press.
With the title "We missed this!" the Turkish Cypriot newspaper "Vatan" writes that during the weekly press briefing, the special adviser to the Nigerian president on foreign affairs, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said that, "before you visit northern Cyprus, think twice. There is nothing we can do for Nigerians. Our students are murdered there every day."
He also said that only Turkey recognizes the pseudo-state and noted that there are no mechanisms for the Nigerian government to oversee the investigations and the process before the "courts" for the murdered Nigerian students in the occupied territories.
