Eight deaths and 1.814 new cases in one week in Cyprus

The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of May 27 - June 2, 2022:

- 8 deaths were announced

- Relate to:

• A man, aged 62, who passed away on 19/01/2021
• Woman, aged 77, who passed away on 30/07/2021
• A man, aged 88, who passed away on 28/05/2022
• Woman, aged 62, who passed away on 28/05/2022
• A man, aged 75, who passed away on 30/05/2022
• A man, aged 92, who passed away on 31/05/2022
• A man, aged 90, who passed away on 31/05/2022
• Woman, aged 50, who passed away on 31/05/2022

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 1067.

- 35 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals
- 1 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of ventilator / 0 intubated, MAF: 1)
- 6 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- A total of 65.706 diagnostic tests were performed
- 1.814 new cases were identified (total of 491.777 cases).
- Position rate in all exams 2,76%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 4.321 molecular tests were performed
- There were 216 positive incidents
- Position rate 5,00%
Total Rapid Test:
- 61.385 rapid antigen detection tests were performed
- There were 1.598 positive incidents
- Position rate 2,60%

Tracking:
- 81 molecular tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3,70%)
Private initiative:
- 3.116 molecular tests were performed, 166 positive cases were identified (percentage of positivity 5,33%)
- 49.275 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 1.503 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 3,05%)

12.110 rapid antigen detection tests were performed through the programs of the Ministry of Health. 95 positive cases were identified.

- Sampling points: 3.172 rapid detection tests detected 73 positive cases (positivity rate 2,30%)

Other
- National Guard: 1010 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 2 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0,20%)
- Nursing homes: 3.973 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 17 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0,43%)
- Closed structures: 3.955 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 3 new cases were detected (positivity rate 0,08%).
