Visits to leisure centers ranged at 50% last weekend, according to the president of the Pancyprian Federation of Leisure Center Owners Associations, Neophyto Thrasyvoulou.
In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Thrasyvoulou stated that during the previous three days, Cypriots who took advantage of the programs of the Ministry of Tourism were trafficked. He said that the recreation centers had a coverage of 50% by Cypriots, but noted that after Sunday the traffic in the tourist areas across Cyprus is very low.
Mr. Thrasyvoulou wished the Plan to move forward, calling on the Ministry of Tourism to announce new plans to support food and not just accommodation, so that locals can travel to leisure centers.
Regarding the three days of the flood, Mr. Thrasyvoulou said that the people will move again and this is what the owners of the leisure centers wish. The message we are sending to the members of OSIKA, he added, is "to keep a small basket" until June passes, with the least possible damage.
Unfortunately, things are not rosy or easy, but the effort continues by all, he concluded.
