HOSPITAL: 30% of leisure centers will reopen after the lockdown ends

30% of the leisure centers are expected to reopen in pan-Cypriot climates after the easing of measures against Covid-19 from May 10, announced yesterday by the Council of Ministers, according to the president of the Federation of Leisure Center Owners (OSIKA) Phyto Thrasyvos.

In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Thrasyvoulou described the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers as correct and wished that we would not have setbacks. At this stage, he stressed, the entrepreneurs of the leisure centers, which were operating normally and before the lockdown, are ready to reopen.

He added that from May 14-15, other leisure centers will start reopening in addition to those that operated until today in the form of take away and delivery, since the reopening of a leisure center requires a lot of preparation.

He acknowledged that there would be a lot of problems in the tourist areas with the resumption of operations, saying that they would need more support from the State.

For us, he continued, the milestone of normalcy will be June 1, 2021, when the operation of indoor spaces in restaurants will be allowed. Based on the relaxations, said Mr. Thrasyvoulou, until May 31 and based on the current protocol, the operation of all outdoor restaurants (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack bars and bars, cafes and restaurants in commercial areas will be allowed). centers, canteens and / or sports clubs, cultural clubs, clubs, associations, etc.

In relation to the opening hours, the president of OSIKA estimated that they could be extended since the spectators should have a Coronapass in their possession.

Asked about this, Mr. Thrasyvoulou estimated that the Coronapass will create difficulty for the guests, however he noticed, at the moment that it is the responsibility of the customers, the Association can not intervene in this. These are health issues and the Ministry of Health, he said.

He also pointed out that the operation of nightclubs, discos, nightclubs and music and dance venues remains suspended.

It is noted that the conditions for Coronapass are negative test (pcr / rapid) validity within 72 hours, vaccination with at least one dose and completion of a period of at least 3 weeks after vaccination or the person has been ill for the last 6 months.
