The opinion that in the coming days the number of cases will exceed 3 thousand was expressed by Konstantinos Deltas.
Speaking on state radio on Tuesday morning, Dr. Deltas, a professor of Medicine and Molecular Genetics at the University of Cyprus, expressed the view that the data are worrying.
He also said that the most worrying and possibly inevitable thing is that health professionals will also get sick, something which - as he said - may lead to deforestation of hospitals. Speaking to SigmaLive, Dr. Delta explained that the growing trend of cases has been recorded for weeks.
Asked if a lockdown could be implemented now, Dr. Delta said that "when you are on the edge of a cliff there is no other choice, you have to be caught somewhere". He stressed that no one wants such a thing now, but it may be the last resort.
