PASYDY invites the members of the Division of Radiologists, Physiotherapists, Radiologists and Occupational Therapists to proceed as of today, November 26, 2020, to suspend the measures of abstention from the waiting system and calls on a nationwide basis applied by 25/11.
In today's announcement, PASYDY states that its decision to suspend the measures was taken after consultations of its leadership and OKYPY and a call of the Organization to suspend the implementation of the measures from today and for a period of 15 days to investigate the possibility of implementing the agreement on placement of radiographs by hospital, in the corresponding system applied to radiologists, and the consequent effort to be made by OKYPY and for the general issue of revised compensation of radiographers based on the relevant agreement with the Ministry of Health.
PASYDY clarifies that if the efforts to resolve the issues raised are not wheeled to be resolved, the measure of indefinite abstention from the waiting and calling system will be restored without any other warning and will invite affected colleagues to offer their services their regular working hours as provided in the Service Plan of the position they hold, and calls on the OKYPY to proceed in such a case to the necessary actions to ensure the health and safety of patients.
He adds that the specific measure was implemented after the decision of the Nicosia OKYPY directorate to keep the radiographs in the waiting and calling system at the moment when the radiologists have been placed in the category of active duty.
He also states that as an additional reason for the abstention of colleagues from the waiting and calling system on a pan-Cypriot scale was the refusal of the Ministry of Finance to implement the agreement of PASYDY with the Ministry of Health of October 2019 for revised compensation of radiographs. already applied in recent years with radiologists.
