The Limassol Criminal Court sentenced the 8-year-old and the 7-year-old, respectively, who were accused, along with two other persons, in a case of cocaine trafficking, weighing about half a kilo, to 57 and 22 years in prison today.

The Criminal Court, which has already imposed prison sentences on two more people, announced today the sentences for the 57-year-old and the 22-year-old, who were found guilty of possession in order to supply a controlled drug of class A '.
According to the Criminal Court, the escalation of this nature of crimes endangers the foundations of society and the courts have an obligation and duty to crack down on the sale of drugs of any kind.

In addition, he emphasizes that "the number of victims is growing uncontrollably and the courts must protect society and especially the water people who are most vulnerable to this danger" and that "it would be inconceivable not to have the active participation of justice in everyday life. fight against the scourge of drugs ".
The factors that the court took into account when calculating the sentence were, among others, the seriousness of the offenses, the alarming frequency of their commission and the fact that the defendants intended to supply other persons with this large amount of drugs.
Their immediate confession, their apology and remorse, their white criminal record, their personal and family circumstances and especially for the first accused, his cooperation with the Police were taken as mitigating factors.
The Criminal Court also notes that it took into account the fact that both defendants were not responsible for the case, but acted as an important link in the drug trafficking chain.
