The decision of yesterday's meeting held by the Ministers of Education and Health with the Rector of the University of Cyprus Mr. Tassos Christofidis and the Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology Mr. Panagiotis Zafeiris for the return of the students to the Universities with negative PCR demonstration.
Speaking on Radio Proto's First Show, the Rector of TEPAK, Panagiotis Zafeiris, stated that in its last session, the Senate stood on five points regarding the return of students.
"First it was decided to encourage vaccination to both staff and students. That's why we already had a mobile vaccination unit twice at the University. Second, the return of students with physical presence. Third is the strict observance of the protocols. "Fourth, tests should be performed, such as PCR, and last, the encouragement of courses with the use of new technologies", he said.
Asked if this decision will bring financial burden to the students, Mr. Zafeiris said that, "whatever option there would be some cost but in this way the security of presence with physical presence in the Universities is ensured. It is an effort to achieve the goal. "There is an alternative, which is vaccination."
