Flight of a Turkish aircraft over the dead zone – The response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (VIDEO)

A source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told KYPE that the Ministry is aware of the incident and is in contact with the peacekeeping force.

The head of the community of Denia, Christakis Panagiotou, called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately proceed with negotiations, after the incident involving the flight of a Turkish aircraft over Denia.

As Mr. Panagiotou reported to KYPE, for an hour the plane of the occupying army circled over the dead zone of Denia. But the most serious thing, as he said, is that he made 5-6 circles over the village before moving away towards the Turkish outposts.

This is an incident, as he said, that is happening for the first time.

"I duly informed the State Department, the National Guard and the United Nations," he said.

Mr. Panagiotou added that based on the information he has, the same thing happened yesterday in the Geri area.

The Turkish aircraft, he noted, caused particular concern among the residents, especially those who lived in 1974.

He expressed the opinion that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should take immediate steps, denouncing the violations.

He also said that the United Nations cannot accept this situation. He added that for a year the state gave the community 160.000 euros to build a road from Denia to Mammari which is inside the dead zone very close to the village and for a year the United Nations refuses to allow them to build it.

"The plane that flies over the world, over the village why do they allow it", he wondered.
