A fire completely destroyed a two-story preserved but abandoned house on Ifigenias Street near TEPAK in Limassol.
According to the Press Spokesperson, Andreas Ketti, the Fire Department at 11:31 responded with four fire engines, including a telescopic arm carrier, to a fire in a two-story preserved but abandoned house on Ifigenias Street near TEPAK in Limassol.
The Press Spokesperson reported that the fire is on the second floor and is burning completely. Information indicates that four people left the building before the arrival of the Fire Service. Our members are proceeding with extinguishing, searching for any trapped people and safeguarding adjacent residences due to the cohesion of the buildings. There may also be a question of static adequacy of the building involved in the fire.
He added that due to the fire, thick black smoke covered the area, while due to the large thermal load, the roof collapsed. Efforts to fully extinguish and protect adjacent buildings are continuing by members of the Fire Department.
