4th announcement of financial support plans for affected farmers
The Department of Agriculture, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, announces the 4th announcement of two financial support projects concerning the construction of fencing to protect crops from wild animals and the payment of compensation for the damage they cause. More specifically, the plans are as follows:
A. State aid scheme for fencing to protect crops from damage caused by wild animals.
B. Compensation scheme for damage caused to agricultural crops by wild animals.
The aim of the Plans is to take measures to protect crops from the eating habits of wild animals and to replenish the farmers' income from the damage they may cause, given that it is a protected species.
The affected farmers who wish to apply for the "State aid scheme for fencing to protect their crops from damage caused by wild animals" they are called as they are addressed to the local Provincial Agricultural Offices where their holding falls. Applications for this Plan will be accepted until September 15, 2022.
Accordingly, applications for the “Compensation plan for damage caused to agricultural crops by wild animals" are accepted throughout the year.
Regarding the terms and conditions for participation in the projects in question, information on the beneficiaries, the required supporting documents and for other clarifications, those interested are encouraged to contact the relevant District Agricultural Offices.
