In fact, according to the newspaper "Phileleftheros", a 22-year-old pregnant woman has been hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit since yesterday due to coronavirus pneumonia.

The 22-year-old is in the 18th week of pregnancy and it is the first case of a woman who is pregnant in this age group that had to be intubated.

At the same time, two other young people are in the ICU without a history of vaccination or medical history with underlying diseases that justify their admission. These are men aged 35 and 45 years.

Pimpos Charilaou, Spokesperson of OKYPY, was hosted at Mesimeri kai Kati. Initially, Mr. Charilaou referred to the incident that shocked the public opinion, with the young pregnant woman who is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia Hospital, with severe respiratory failure.

"Unfortunately, a pregnant woman who is in the 19th week at the Nicosia ICU is being treated. He was admitted to the GNL and due to severe respiratory failure he was admitted to the ICU ", said Mr. Charilaou.

"Superhuman efforts are being made by treating doctors to make the young woman and the child well. We hope that in the coming days it will come out of respiratory support. It is the first time that a pregnant woman is treated, even at this age. We hope people finally understand that the virus makes no exceptions.

The virus strikes relentlessly where it finds suitable ground, especially in the unvaccinated. I am not talking about this case. However, the vast majority of those who are treated are unvaccinated and we are talking about serious cases. The patients' stay time is the same as the previous periods ", underlined Mr. Charilaou.
