At 0,4% increase in employment in the Government in November

Government employment growth slowed in November 2021, with the reduction of permanent staff offsetting the increase in part-time employees.

According to data from the Statistical Service, employment in the Government in November 2021, increased by 214 people or 0,4% compared to the corresponding month of 2020 and reached 53.018 people.

The permanent staff has a decrease of 655 people, from 26.916 to 26.261 people, which corresponds to a decrease of 2,4% on an annual basis, while the temporary staff has an increase of 1.003 people or 5,7% reaching 18.461 compared to 17.458 people in November 2020.

Compared to November 2020, there is an increase in the staff of the Educational Service by 1,7% and in the staff of the Security Forces 1,0%, while there is a decrease in the staff of the Public Service -0,1%.

There is a decrease in the permanent staff in all three categories, with the largest being presented to the staff of the Public Service -3,1%. On the contrary, there is an increase in the temporary staff in all three categories with the staff of the Educational Service presenting the largest 7,8%.

Compared to October 2021, employment in the Government remained virtually unchanged. On a monthly basis, in November there was an increase in the staff of the Educational Service by 0,9%, while there is a decrease in the staff of the Security Forces -0,4% and in the staff of the Public Service by -0,1%.
There is a decrease in the permanent staff in all three categories, with the largest being presented to the staff of the Public Service with -0,3%.

According to the Statistics, there is an increase of 2,8% in the staff of the Educational Service and in the staff of the Public Service 0,3%, while there is a decrease of 0,5% in the staff of the Security Forces.
