Crossings through roadblocks remain in deep red - Measures are being adjusted

Roadblocks remain in deep red due to the pandemic, and measures taken are being adjusted accordingly, effective Monday (January 24th), the United Nations said on Thursday.

A written statement attributed to the UN representative stated that "based on the agreement reached between the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiadis on June 2, the Technical Health Committee is constantly assessing the dynamic epidemiological situation and measures to be taken. to be applied at the crossing points, as the case may be ”.

It is added that based on the Commission's assessment of 19 January 2022, the situation is determined to remain at Level 3 (deep red) and adapted measures will be applied at all crossing points from Monday 24 January (9 am).

The new measures require a negative 7-day PCR or rapid test for people who have been fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines 14 days after their 2nd dose.

The period of validity of these vaccines is considered to be up to 7 months from the last dose of the initial vaccination or from the receipt of a booster vaccine.

Negative 7-day PCR or rapid is also required for people who have been fully vaccinated with Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik and Johnson & Johnson vaccines 14 days after their 2nd dose (1st dose in the case of Johnson & Johnson).

The period of validity for these vaccines is considered to be up to 3 months from the last dose of the initial vaccination or from the receipt of a booster vaccine. The same applies to children between 5 and 11 years old, unvaccinated high school students and people living in Kato Pyrgos.

Negative 72-hour or 48-hour rapid PCR is required for unvaccinated individuals 12 years of age and older and vaccinated individuals who have not received a booster dose after the expiration date of the vaccine, as described above.
