He added that "in recent years, Cypriot agriculture is facing many challenges", noting that "the Government is making every effort to address these challenges, having implemented all available financial tools."

"From 2014," he said, "when the current period of the Rural Development Program has begun, until this year, when its transitional period ends, a total of over 850 million euros will have been targeted at our rural world, from European and national funds. ».

According to the Minister of Agriculture, "for the further support of agricultural activity and the sustainable development of the countryside, the role of the new Common Agricultural Policy until 2027 is expected to be crucial, in the planning of which we actively participated, including favorable provisions for the country." us".

At the same time, he stated that in line with the EU policies, Cyprus extended the actions of reorganization and improvement of the operation of the agricultural sector, adding that the reform of the risk management sector in agricultural production, as well as the legislation to deal with Unfair Trade agri-food supply chain and improving the way public markets operate for the benefit of our farmers are just some of them.
