A review of the policies and actions included in the "National Strategy for the Development of Mountain Communities" will be held by a wide-ranging meeting, under the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, during which the progress of the implemented programs and plans will be evaluated.
According to a written statement by the Director of the Press Office of the President of the Republic, Andrea Joseph, the Ministers of Interior, Justice, Transport, Health and Agriculture were invited to the meeting that will take place next Monday, March 14. The Undersecretary of Research and Innovation, the Undersecretary to the President, the Commissioner for Development of Mountain Communities and officials will also be present.
According to Mr. Joseph, the policies and actions implemented by the Government are part of the broader plan implemented with the aim of reversing the wave of astyphilia and the rebirth of mountainous areas. The aim of the Government's effort is to make mountain communities attractive places of permanent residence for young families, investors and entrepreneurs.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16.
On Friday, March 18, President Anastasiadis will address the Aphrodite Awards ceremony of the Municipality of Paphos and on Saturday, March 19, he will announce the start of the events of the 14th International OPAP Limassol GSO Marathon.
On Sunday, March 20, he will attend and speak at the Supreme Council of DISY.
