The proposal to extend the time limit of paternity leave is being discussed

In a statement, the MP, Onoufrios Koullas, after the Labor Committee for paternity leave stated that "before the Labor Committee was discussed today the possibility of extending the time limit that can be exercised the right of paternity leave. It is a draft law of AKEL.

The government, through the Minister of Labor, accepts a compromise idea, a compromise proposal.

This proposal should be within the limits of the maternity allowance. Because the very idea of paternity leave is to support the mother during the time she is at home with the newborn.

This compromise proposal can pass, be constitutionally correct, be implemented quickly and effectively this right by the fathers without risk and this is our approach as with sickness or other benefits, instead of being implemented to lead in the Supreme Court which as you know will cause a long delay. "With the acceptance of this compromise proposal by the executive, we can achieve the extension of this right."
