Issues related to tourism, culture and investment were discussed today by Larnaca Mayor Andreas Vyras and the Ambassador of Ireland to Cyprus Conor Long.
An announcement of the Municipality states that "The Ambassador presented the Mayor with two Greek editions of the Irish author James Joyce, since yesterday, February 2, marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of the book 'Odysseus', one of the masterpieces of classical literature."
They were also discussed during the meeting "Various issues concerning the fields of culture, tourism and investment but also possible collaborations between Larnaca and the Embassy. Special mention was made to CMMI in marine research issues as well, since two Research Institutions, the Irish Marine Institute and the Bluewise Marine, which have significant expertise and know-how in Blue Growth issues, cooperate with CMMI ".
Beer and Long agreed "To strengthen the already good relations with the Embassy of Ireland, since joint actions on cultural issues have been implemented in the past and to continue the two-way cooperation in various fields as well as cooperation in various European programs."
The Mayor of Larnaca thanked the Ambassador for the visit and souvenirs were exchanged.
