Changes in the measures related to sports, which will be valid from May 17, 2021, announces the Cyprus Sports Organization.
In a statement, the COM states that for sports / training conducted in indoor sports facilities (gyms, dance, gymnastics, martial arts and other sports) it is clarified that this is allowed with the simultaneous presence of a number of people, based on the square and specifically, a person per 15 square meters.
In addition, it is emphasized that only individual training is allowed and not group contact programs, provided there is a safe pass, while reminding that the use of locker rooms and similar infrastructure (showers, common area, benches) is prohibited.
Regarding the sport / training of team sports in indoor sports facilities (except for training and games A, B and C category which are regulated by the relevant provision of the decree), states that it is allowed on the basis of square -1 person per 15 square- but not more than 20 people physical presence per training room.
In addition, it is emphasized that only individual training is allowed, provided there is a safe pass.
In outdoor futsal sports facilities, team training / play is allowed, provided that athletes do not exceed 10 people per facility and provided there is a safe pass, while it is noted that training / sports will be done without the use of locker rooms and without gloves and badges and based on a protocol which has been approved by the Ministry of Health.
In outdoor sports facilities (Futsal / Basketball, etc.), where team sports academy trainings are held, individual training of athletes without contact is allowed, provided that they do not exceed 11 people including the coach (10 +1).
Individual training of athletes not exceeding six (6) persons per team, including the coach, is allowed on large football fields, provided that the total number of persons per sports facility does not exceed twenty-four (24) persons.
For outdoor and indoor competitive swimming pools 50m or 25m long - and since there are competitive routes in them - the simultaneous presence of four people per route and up to two coaches per swimming pool is allowed.
In case there are no races in the swimming pool, but also in smaller tanks, individual training is allowed based on the squares and specifically 20 squares per person.
In addition, water polo training is allowed with a maximum number of people per swimming pool of 20 people, provided there is a safe pass (in both open and closed swimming pools).
It is emphasized that both indoor and outdoor training, the use of a protective mask by coaches / trainers is mandatory.
It is understood that non-use of masks by coaches / trainers is allowed in case they train / exercise together with the athletes.
In addition, it clarifies that for persons 12 years and older who, whether they play indoor sports facilities, or participate in contact sports, or take part in sports events (competitions), a Safe pass is required (either a negative laboratory test or a rapid detection test) antigen for his disease COVID-19 by sampling within 72 hours, or a vaccination certificate for the disease COVID-19 at least one dose and provided that three weeks have elapsed since the date of vaccination, or evidence of release in the case of persons who have contracted the disease; COVID-19 and provided that no more than six months have elapsed since the date of sampling of their initial positive diagnosis).
For the rest of the sports (participation in individual sports in open sports facilities), for persons 12 years and older, it is required to have either a negative laboratory test or a rapid antigen test for his disease COVID-19 on a weekly basis, or a vaccination certificate for his illness COVID-19 at least one dose and provided that three weeks have elapsed since the date of vaccination, or evidence of release in the case of persons who have contracted the disease; COVID-19 and provided that no more than six months have elapsed from the date of sampling of their initial positive diagnosis.
