He was wanted since 2018 for forgery of passports and bank cards

The District Court of Pafos issued a four-day detention order against a 41-year-old for a case of forgery of passports and bank cards.

Specifically, a 41-year-old man was arrested on Sunday in Paphos, by members of the Police, against whom a case of forgery of passports and bank cards is being investigated. The suspect was taken into custody with a court order, for purposes of investigating the case.

According to a statement from the Communication Department of the Police Headquarters, the investigation into the case began after information was provided to the Police by EUROPOL Germany in June 2018 and stated that the 41-year-old had been arrested in Germany for a case of forgery of bank cards, that there was evidence of his residence in a specific apartment in Cyprus and requested that examinations be carried out by the Authorities of the Republic.

On June 26, 2018, based on a court warrant, members of the Police searched the said apartment, where they found ten passports, a large number of mobile phones, eight computers, a bank card printing device and other items.

The items found were seized for examination purposes, while a judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 41-year-old, who had left Cyprus in March 2018.

Shortly after 1.00:41 am on Sunday, after the XNUMX-year-old arrived at Paphos airport, on a flight from a European country, he was arrested by members of the Police at the passport control area, with the court warrant pending against him.

Then on Sunday morning, the 41-year-old was brought before the District Court of Paphos, which, at the request of the Police, issued a four-day detention order for the purposes of police examinations.
