Georgios Akritidis, a 9-year-old resident of Limassol, lost his life in a deadly road collision that occurred around 32 last night on the Platron - Limassol road.
Specifically, while Akritidis was driving his car on the above road, at a point where there was a turn, he followed a straight course, as a result of which he violently hit a tree where he was immobilized.
The 32-year-old, who allegedly did not wear a seat belt, was trapped in the wreckage of his car and the intervention of the Fire Service was needed to free him.
He was transported by ambulance to the Limassol General Hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed his death.
The Limassol Traffic Police continues the examinations.
