The 27-year-old SYOP commander lost his battle for life after being injured in a planned exercise with a helicopter flight and falling into the sea, according to the Ministry of Defense.
According to the announcement, the 27-year-old Contract Hoplitis Panagiotis Giannios, who was seriously injured as part of a planned educational activity last Monday, passed away on Wednesday afternoon (29/6) in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital where he was hospitalized.
The unfortunate Panagiotis was injured when he jumped from a helicopter into the sea.
Both the National Guard and the Cyprus Police are investigating the tragic event.
