Residents are outraged by the decision of the Council of Ministers in October 2019 to relocate the concrete asphalt plants, however they continue to be drowned daily by fuel oil fires.

"If the factory was working now, there would be no way we could stay here without tensions, without wanting to go and be locked in a place, in your home," said Michalis Leontiou, a resident of Nea Ledra in Dali. .

"The big problem is that the factory is open when we sleep. So there is no chance that he will sleep at night and have open windows and enjoy the traditional wolf of Cyprus ", added Mr. Leontiou.

Inactivity in the movement of factories has provoked the reaction of the President of the Republic himself, who has taken the initiative to solve the timeless problem.

However, speaking to OMEGA, a representative of an involved factory in the area claims that according to studies conducted by both the state and the private sector, they show that the gas emission indicators are below the European average. While they complain that the local authorities use their request as a lever to renew their license so that they can move from the area, and state that they are in direct cooperation with the Government.
