The Commissioner of Citizens Mr. Panagiotis Sentonas, accompanied by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Cyprus Mr. Ruslan Nimchynskyi, went today to the new Limassol Port, from where the new humanitarian aid package will be sent to Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Sentonas said: "This is essentially the third mission to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
It mainly includes medical equipment, such as, for example, respirators, defibrillators, first aid supplies, firefighting uniforms sent by the Cyprus Fire Service, as well as medicines offered by the Cyprus Red Cross.
"Essentially, this mission will leave Cyprus tomorrow, will arrive in Thessaloniki and then will end up at the Humanitarian Aid Center set up by the European Civil Protection Mechanism in Romania, to meet the needs stated by the Ukrainian authorities."
Finally, the Citizen's Commissioner noted that "I want to thank once again all those who contributed to this effort and there are many. They are the Municipalities of Cyprus, the communities, organized groups, companies and others.
I also thank the competent services of the state, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Defense, the Port Authority, the National Guard and the company Amathus Aegean, which all these months offers its premises to prepare the material for the shipment. ».
